King’s Chapel of the Savoy

Hidden away just off the Strand is the beautiful King’s Chapel of the Savoy. Part of the Duchy of Lancaster it belongs to The King and the national anthem is sung here with the variation ‘Long Live our Noble Duke’. It’s all that’s left of a hospital founded for homeless people by Henry VIII and is open to the public. A new stained-glass window commemorates the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the pretty gardens are a peaceful city sanctuary.
