There are a number of local charities in the Northbank, please email info@thenorthbank.london to find out more.
The Barrow Cadbury Trust is an independent, charitable foundation, committed to bringing about socially just change.
The Connection at St Martin’s is a prominent charity in the area, of which The Northbank BID works closely with to support a better future for a community of people who find themselves living on the streets.
The Connection at St Martin’s helps thousands of homeless people every year to move away from, and stay off the streets of London. They are much more than a soup kitchen and provide a range of specialist services, all under one roof, which help people address their homelessness and make the necessary steps away from the streets so they can re-enter society and live ‘normally’ again.
The Connection is the busiest homelessness centre in London. Last year they had over 40,000 visits. This is because central London attracts thousands of people, who wish to start their lives over or believe there are more opportunities available to them here. If these do not materialise, people can find themselves vulnerable to homelessness.
With over 60 years’ experience in the sector, they are experts at delivering effective services which prevent and reduce rough sleeping in London. The Connection is the result of a merger between the Social Care Unit, which operated out of St Martin’s, and the London Connection, a service working specifically with younger people.
