Low Waste Living Workshop

As part of our celebration of World Environment Day, Northbank BID and Sunny Jar Eco Hub are on a mission to reduce people’s waste, by making low waste living easy and accessible for all.

Did you know it’s almost impossible to recycle cling film or sandwich bags? Why not try reusable versions to do your bit for the planet? Learn to make your own wrap/bags with beeswax, as a simple and easy alternative.

Beeswax wraps are a natural eco-friendly alternative to cling film and tin foil for wrapping food or covering bowls and jars.

If you’re looking to reduce your carbon footprint, reduce waste to landfill and reduce chemical-laden plastic food packaging, then this workshop is for you.

You’ll get to take home your own wrap suitable for a sandwich wrap or a snack bag. All materials are provided. Fabric will be available, however we encourage you to bring any fabric that can be upcycled (lightweight cotton recommended).

The BID is offering this FREE of charge to make the Northbank a better place to be and work and the activity will take about 1 hour.
