The importance of ‘green’ within the urban environment has become ever more important to the creation and refurbishment of physical spaces in our cities. The recently completed space at London’s Aldwych provides a good example of ‘greening’ opportunities: transforming a highway dominated by traffic into a beautiful sustainable place good for our mental health. There are also developing ideas on how buildings might contribute to greening our cityscape through green roofs and walls. There is a lot happening within such spaces and buildings. Join us at Temple Bar to hear more about this topic, as it is likely to become an increasingly important planning requirement which will need to be met by our profession.
