Film fans are invited to take a trip inside Somerset House for Behind the Screen – a diverse and entertaining programme of talks, workshops and family activities.
Behind the Screen brings the world of cinema into sharper focus with special events and guests providing unique insights into the programme. This year’s events include talks from Helen Trompeteler from the National Portrait Gallery presenting Audrey Hepburn as the girl who launched the gamine style, and 45 Years director Andrew Haigh discussing his film inspirations with us.
The Somerset House Film Tours are back by popular demand, offering the opportunity to explore the historic site which has provided the location for many cinematic scenes. Daytime events also include an Anime Studio Day giving young creative people the chance to explore the process and themes of Japanese animation, and family activities comprising of Dances with Werewolves and free screenings of Where the Wild Things Are, both ahead of the evening’s showing of an American Werewolf in London.
