Start Date: February 14, 2018
End Date: February 20, 2018
Chubby Hearts over London is a public design project conceived by Anya Hindmarch as a love letter to London.
Starting on Valentine’s Day and continuing on as a celebration of London Fashion Week, giant Chubby Heart balloons will be suspended over (and sometimes squashed within) famous London landmarks and prominent locations across the city.
The balloons will float from dawn until dusk each day and reappear above different locations the next day over seven days.
After a year of highs and lows, this is an effort to draw a smile to a passer-by, encouraging them to pause for a moment or go exploring for the next heart; playing with the city that we all love.
The Mayor of London, the British Fashion Council, the City of Westminster, Councils, Landowners, Businesses, Districts and the Civil Aviation Authority have all come together to create this project in 29 locations across London.
CHUBBY HEARTS OVER NORTHBANK
The hearts will be popping up across a number of days throughout the city and the Northbank is playing host to three: The Trafalgar St. James’ Chubby Heart over Trafalgar Square, Somerset House Trust’s Chubby Heart over Somerset House, and The British Fashion Council’s Chubby Heart over 180 The Strand – ready for London Fashion Week. Our neighbours at Covent Garden have one too!
GET ON BOARD!
We would like to encourage all Northbank businesses to raise awareness of the Chubby Hearts through social media and internal communications, to encourage guests, customers, colleagues and clients to come and see for themselves.
VIEWS OVER LONDON
Get the best views of the Chubby Hearts from a number of top spots in the Northbank, including but definitely not limited to… The Rooftop at The Trafalgar St. James, Radio Bar, Amba Hotel Terrace Bar, and much much more!
In fact, The Trafalgar St. James is inviting us all to come up onto the Rooftop to see the balloon rise on 20th Feb, with champagne and pastries from dawn onwards. Ask the team at The Trafalgar St. James from more information.
