Embrace this sell-out run in its inaugural year!
This new, exciting and unique half marathon showcases ‘The Grand. The Quirky. The Hidden.’ of central London.
It will not only mark the well-known landmarks of the capital such as Big Ben, St Paul’s Cathedral, Nelson’s Column, the Gherkin, the Shard, the Tower of London and the London Eye, but also unearth and promote the hidden highlights of the city, with an emphasis on historical and cultural gems
A great deal of importance has been placed on engagement for spectators as well as providing runners with a spectacular and interesting route.
Along the route, activations will bring these hidden highlights to life, shining a spotlight on London’s wonderful history and culture such as The creator of the Bowler Hat, Dr Johnson’s house who was the creator of the English Dictionary, Postmans Park celebrating London’s postal history, the Bow Bells and hidden Roman Baths.
It’s the first of its kind to go through both the City of Westminster and the City of London and has a number of activations in both areas.
The event has been created by a charity, for the benefit of the charity sector with ALL proceeds going to good causes. 100+ charities will be represented at the event.
Be part of the London Landmarks Half Marathon volunteer army!
The London Landmarks Half Marathon is a brand new event that goes through the heart of Westminster and the City. Set up by the baby charity Tommy’s, the unique route takes runners past a stunning landscape of iconic landmarks as well as immersing them in London’s secret, quirky and hidden history! All fundraising and profits from the event go to charity. The LLHM has partnered with over 100 charities to raise at least £4 million.
We want to offer runners and spectators the best race day ever, which we couldn’t do without an army of amazing volunteers. We’re looking for enthusiastic, proactive, and motivated individuals to help with a variety of exciting event day roles. We’d love your help with: handing out well earned medals at the finish; assisting with our event entertainment (fancy dressing up as a Suffragette, Roman Gladiator or as a character from Harry Potter?!); and rehydrating runners at water stations.
Signing up to volunteer is a great opportunity to be part of a new central London sporting event, meet new people and help over 100 charities- you can make a difference and have fun at the same time! To find your perfect role please click here. Or to register click here.
