A statement from Woods Silverfleet 19.02.2018: Woods Quay Build Statement FEB 2018
A statement from Woods Silverfleet 16.02.2018
“Our Savoy Pier pile driving will resume today (16.02.18) at 14:00 to coincide with High Water. If piling does not occur at this time due to any technical issues, it will be cancelled. All piling works are dependant on high water tide levels to mute the noise vibration.
Our contractors predict 30-45 minutes of drive time.
An Environmental Health Officer at Westminster City Council will be in attendance to monitor the noise output of the piling.
We have spoken with our noise and vibration consultants regarding the vibration. They advise that the outputs from the piling are within the accepted limits for this type of work at this location.
Our consultants and the Woods family, owners of Savoy Pier, are preparing a statement today to give more background on the river works taking place as they work to restore a disused Victorian steamship pier back into a working quay ready for the 21st century.
We will be circulating a precise schedule of pile driving works for the final four dates which will be very similar in duration, timed on high tides.
Thank you so much for your understanding during this extremely rare period of river works in our company’s history.”
