On Saturday 18th July, the Northbank celebrated ‘Talk To Me Day’ encouraging local people, Londoners and tourists to get out and talk to a stranger. As one of the initiatives put forward in the RSA Business Challenge last year, the Northbank wanted to remove the taboo of talking to a stranger, encourage greater community cohesion and dispel the myth that London is an unfriendly city.
Official events centred on Victoria Embankment Gardens and St Martin-in-the-Fields Church who kindly hosted 250 like-minded people who were brought together to celebrate the importance of conversation, discuss life, love and the universe and generally have a very nice time getting acquainted with people they would not ordinarily meet.
Although centred around activity in London, Talk To Me Day was also celebrated in Dublin, New York, San Francisco and Las Vegas.
