Flower Power Brightens The Northbank

Public Realm

August 7, 2014

We are working with Westminster City Council to improve the streets in the Strand area, bringing summer colour and a refreshing feel to the centre of the city through plants and flowers. So to enhance some of the busiest streets in the area we have fitted hanging baskets to lamp columns on two of The Northbank’s busiest streets; Villiers Street and Southampton Street.

The baskets have been planted with a tall blue Salvia in the middle, working out from the centre we have pink begonia, and around the outside trailing plants of White Bacopa and a mix of Sky blue/Purple/Blue vein Surfinia. Baskets are regularly watered and fed to ensure they look their best until autumn when they will be replaced with plants more suitable for winter weather.

We hope they will be enjoyed by visitors, residents and businesses by bringing a pleasant feel to these busy streets. We look forward to seeing them flourish and grow!
